Makeup Looks To Try This Summer If You're Sick of Highlighter

Pinterest

Highlighters are nothing new, but it seems their popularity has skyrocketed in the past 6 months and if you're anything like me, you're sick of the trend. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some psychopath, anything that glistens and glows captivates me and makes my mouth water, but the overly "strobed" effect is becoming redundant and expected in my opinion. Here are some beautiful summer looks to try if you're sick of looking like a damn glazed donut.

Glossy Red Lips

With matte lipstick being super popular right now, throwing a clear gloss over your red lip would be so unexpected.

Lots of Blush

Sometimes nothing is prettier than a clean face with a swirl of pink blusher on the apples of the cheeks. It's so youthful and timeless, it never goes out of style.  A touch of pink on the cheeks is also a quick and easy way to fake a full nights sleep after a night out of partying (or Netflixing-anyone else?)

When your eyes are this sexy you don't really need much of anything else.

Coral Hues

Coral and pink hues give such a fresh and clean look. Don't be afraid to wear a contrasting color with your outfit.

Gone are the days of covering your freckles.  Flaunt them proudly, but make sure to protect your skin with a good SPF. If you haven't been blessed with adorable freckles you can fake it! Take your eyebrow pencil and lightly dot it along the bridge of your nose and cheeks, then take a beauty blender and lightly pat it overtop to diffuse.

Copper Lids

Metallics are always in for summer, but instead of going for the usual bronze or gold, try a copper shadow instead. Copper is especially gorgeous on blue eyes. The red in the shadow will make your eye color pop.

If you're pressed for time, or just feeling completely lazy (me), slick your hair back in a tight bun, throw on some sunglasses and a bright pink lip and call it a day.

As you can see, there are plenty of gorgeous makeup looks to try this summer without having to pick up a highlighter. What are some of your favorite summer looks?
